Carolee Carmello, Mike Daisey, Lorenzo Pisoni, et al. Receive Seattle Times Footlight Awards

The Seattle Times has announced its annual Footlight Awards, which honor theatrical accomplishments in the Seattle area.
Carolee Carmello was recognized for her work in the title role of the musical Saving Aimee, with other acting honorees including N’Tasha Anders, Kjerstine Anderson, Patrick Allcorn, Zoey Cane Belyea, Teagle Bougere, Mark Chamberlin, John Dewar, Jim Gall, Sean Griffin, Reginald Jackson, Jane Jones, Bobbi Kotula, Aaron Lamb, Kevin McKeon, Todd Jefferson Moore, Michael Patten, Vicki Noon, Brandon O’Neill, Jeanne Paulsen, Don Darryl Rivera, Adam Standley, Connor Toms, Mariah Caine Ware, Terri Weagant, and Billie Wildrick.
Mike Daisey’s monologue The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs was honored with the designation, “In a Class By Itself” while Teatro ZinZanni’s Bonjour, Liliane! was awarded “Delectable Dinner Theater,” and Lorenzo Pisoni was dubbed “Prince of Clowns” for his solo show, Humor Abuse.
Yussef El-Guindi’s Pilgrims Musa and Sheri in the New World was named Best World Premiere Play, and the work, produced by ACT Theatre, was also among the Top Mainstage Productions.
Additional Mainstage honorees were Border Songs and Sense and Sensibility (Book-It Repertory Theatre); Mary Stuart and Double Indemnity (ACT Theatre); All My Sons (Intiman Theatre); The Brothers Size (Seattle Repertory Theatre); My Wonderful Day (Seattle Public Theatre); and Brownie Points and The Odyssey (Taproot Theatre).
