The Intiman Theatre has extended its run of Robert E. Sherwood’s Abe Lincoln in Illinois, through November 19 — the anniversary of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. Sheila Daniels directs.

The Pulitzer Prize winning play spans 20 years, the period of Lincoln’s maturation before he became president, exploring how Lincoln forged his conscience, his ideals, and his actions amid personal struggles and troubled years for our country.

Erik Lochtefeld plays the title role with Mary Jane Gibson as Mary Todd Lincoln. The cast also includes Hans Altwies, Clayton Corzatte, Susan Corzatte, Philip Davidson, Angela DiMarco, Russell Hodgkinson, Reginald André Jackson, Peter Dylan O’Connor, Jose Rufino, Matt Shimkus, Richard Nguyen Sloniker, Adam Standley, Kate Wisniewski, and R. Hamilton Wright.

At the closing performance, Intiman will honor “King County Heroes” — individuals who dedicate their time and energy, quietly and under the radar, to bettering our world. The theater is accepting nominations for a “local hero” through Tuesday, November 3 and individuals will be judged by a panel of local community leaders.
