The theater-music-comedy-art collective “Awesome” will bring their musical shenanigans to the Bullitt Cabaret with The “Awesome” Cycle, October 24-November 15, as a companion piece to ACT’s mainstage production of Becky’s New Car.

Stretched over four weekends, each chapter of The “Awesome” Cycle features a different program of theatrics and music using banjos, typewriters, trumpets, film strips, guitars, live illustration, and accordions among other things. Chapter I, titled Seven Brides for Seven Band Members, will run October 24-25; Chapter II, titled A Funeral for Indie Rock, will run October 31-November 1; Chapter III, titled Election Report and Analysis, will run November 7-8; and Chapter IV, titled The Littlest Bang, will run November 14-15.

The musicians for each evening of the cycle include John Ackermann on mandolin, ukulele, piano, guitar, and vocals; Kirk Anderson on drums, and vocals; Basil Harris on bass; Evan Mosher on trumpet, vocals; David Mitsuo Nixon on banjo, and vocals; John Osebold on guitar, theremin, and vocals; and Rob Witmer on accordion, sax, clarinet, triangle, and glockenspiel.
