Village Theatre to Present Readings of New Musicals Lizzie Borden, Johnny Baseball, Great Wall

Villiage Theatre has announced the selections for its 12th annual Village Originals Festival of New Musicals, to run August 10-12.

This year’s selections include Hello Out There, featuring a book and lyrics by Eric Price and music by Frank Terry (August 10); Beth Blatt and Daniel Green’s Oneida (August 11); Kevin Merritt, David Henry Hwang, and Kevin So’s Great Wall (August 11); Bryan Putnam’s The ToyMaker (August 12); and Johnny Baseball (August 12), featuring a book by Richard Dresser, music by Robert Reale, and lyrics by Willie Reale.

Also included is the rock musical Lizzie Borden, with music and lyrics by Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer, book, lyrics, and additional music by Tim Maner, and music and additional lyrics by Alan Stevens Hewitt, will star Carrie Manolakos, Billie Wildrick, Carrie Cimma, and Jessica Low, and run August 11 and 12. Matthew Webb will serve as musical director.

Only Lizzie Borden will be open to the public.
