Carolee Carmello will reprise her performance as Aimee Semple McPherson in Saving Aimee, to run September 30-October 30 at 5th Avenue Theatre. David Armstrong will direct the production.

With book and lyrics by Kathie Lee Gifford and music by David Pomeranz and David Freeman, the show revisits the real-life story of 1920’s evangelist McPherson, who catapulted to unexpected stardom as the founder of the first mega-church and a media empire.

The company will also feature Judy Kaye, Roz Ryan, Ed Dixon, Ed Watts, Charles Leggett, and Brandon O’Neill, along with Jared Michael Brown, Christian Duhmel, Richard Gray, Cayman Ilika, Brandi Chavonne Massey, Cheryl Massey-Peters, Corrina Lapid-Munter, Heath Saunders, Aaron Shanks, Tim Shew, Mara Solar, Billie Wildrick, and Matt Wolfe.

Carmello’s Broadway credits include her Tony Award nominated performances in Lestat and Parade, as well as Mamma Mia!, Kiss Me Kate, Urinetown, and 1776.
