Seattle Shakespeare Company Announces Plays Set for Wooden O

Seattle Shakespeare Company has announced the plays set for Wooden O, its free, outdoor summer season, which will run July 12-August 12. The season’s two plays will perform in park venues throughout King County.

The season will include Twelfth Night, directed by Makaela Pollock, in which Viola, a castaway, disguises herself as a boy to find work as Duke Orsino’s servant. The cast will feature Jessica Avellone (Maria), Emily Chisholm (Viola), Jim Gall (Sir Toby Belch), Matt Gilbert (Sebastian), Emily Grogan (Olivia), Justin Huertas (Feste), Harry Todd Jamieson (Captain/Fabian), George Mount (Malvolio), Connor Toms (Duke Orsino), Matt Shimkus (Sir Andrew Aguecheek), and Michael Feldman Ensemble.

The design team for Twelfth Night will be comprised of Craig B. Wollam (set design), Christine Meyers (costume design), Robertson Witmer (sound design), and Marleigh Driscoll (prop design).

In addition, Mary Machala will direct The Winter’s Tale, in which jealousy and suspicion tear at the heart of King Leontes, a man who seems to have everything. The cast will include Alyson Bedford (Hermione), Therese Diekhans (Paulina), Mike Dooly (Polixenes), Brenda Joyner (Perdita), Jim Lapan (Old Shepherd), Riley Neldam (Florizel), Mark Oram (clown), Michael Patten (Leontes), David Quicksall (Antigonus / Autolycus), and Nick Rempel (Camillo) as well as an ensemble made up of Libby Barnard, Evan Crockett, and Derek Petropolis.

The design team will feature Craig B. Wollam (set design), K.D. Schill (costume design), Marleigh Driscoll (prop design), and Sean Patrick Taylor (composer).
