Seattle Repertory Theatre has announced casting for its production of August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play Fences, to run March 26-April 18, with an opening on March 31. Timothy Bond will direct.

Set in 1957, Fences is the story of Troy Maxson, a garbage collector who abandoned his dreams of a baseball career. As black athletes finally begin to be accepted into the major leagues, Troy’s son wants to pursue his own ambitions of becoming a professional athlete — but his father has other ideas.

The cast will include James A. Williams (Troy Maxson), William Hall Jr. (Jim Bono), José A. Rufino (Lyons), Craig Alan Edwards (Gabriel), Kim Staunton (Rose), Stephen Tyrone Williams (Cory), and Shiann Rush (Raynell).
