ACT Announces Schedule for Seventh Annual Young Playwrights Festival

A Contemporary Theatre has announced the line-up for its seventh annual Young Playwrights Festival, to be held in the Allen Theatre, March 19-21. The event will present staged readings of eight new plays developed through ACT’s Young Playwrights Program.

Program A, which will be presented Thursday, March 19 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, March 21 at 12:00 pm, will feature Gera by Charlie Butler, directed by Kristina Sutherland; Snatch and Run by Kayla Beasely, with direction by Julie Beckman; Solitaire by Nick Hasle, with David Gassner at the helm; and White Dove Over Afghanistan by Becca Ehlers, directed by Kate Jaeger.

Program B, which will be presented Friday, March 20 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, March 21 at 4:00 pm, will feature Realizations by LaKeonna Wyrick, directed by Isaiah Anderson Jr.; Attachment by Ellen Vickrey, with direction by Andy Jensen; Two Cents by Andrew Rowland, directed by Tim Hyland; and After Maren by Zoe Barker-Aderem, to be directed by Gillian Jorgensen.
