Quentin Earl Darrington to Star in Martin Luther King Musical I Dream, Directed by Jasmine Guy

Quentin Earl Darrington, who recently starred as Coalhouse Walker in the Broadway revival of Ragtime will star as Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the new musical drama I Dream, to be presented by Atlanta’s Alliance Stage at the Woodruff Arts Center, July 9-31. Stage and television star Jasmine Guy will direct.

The piece features a book, music and lyrics by Douglas Tappin, with additional music & lyrics by Cedric Perrier. Demetria McKinney. The cast will also feature Demetria McKinney, best known for her performances in Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, as Coretta Scott King, along with Bob Carlisle.

The music team will include Grammy nominee Carl Marsh, Greg Phillinganes, and Keith Williams.
