Tyler Perry to Bring New Series For Better or Worse to TBS

Tyler Perry will bring a new series to TBS based on his Why Did I Get Married? films. The show, Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse, is scheduled to begin filming this summer in Atlanta.

The show will follow the ups-and-downs of married life for Marcus and Angela, two characters who originated in the feature films Why Did I Get Married and Why Did I Get Married Too? Michael Jai White and Tasha Smith are set to reprise their performances in the roles they originated on screen. Additional casting will be announced shortly.

Perry has created two other shows for the network, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne and Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns. In addition, he recently toured the country in his play, Madea’s Big Happy Family. Among the films that feature the popular character from the stage are Madea’s Family Reunion and Madea Goes To Jail. He also directed the film For Colored Girls.
