Rupert Goold’s Macbeth, with Patrick Stewart, CBS’ The Good Wife, HBO’s Temple Grandin et al. Win Peabody Awards

The winners of the 70th annual Peabody Awards have been announced by the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications. The prizes recognize excellence in radio, television, cable and electronic media.

Among the winners are Great Performances: Macbeth, the film version of Rupert Goold’s staging of Shakespeare’s tragedy that stars Patrick Stewart, CBS’s hit series The Good Wife, which stars Julianna Margulies, and the HBO film Temple Grandin, which features Claire Danes.


Peabody Awards have also gone to Spike Lee’s documentary about New Orleans five years after Katrina, If God Is Willing and da Creek Don’t Rise, Martin Scorcese’s Elia Kazan: a Letter to Elia, and the Science Channel and BBC simulated travelogue Wonders of the Solar System with Brian Cox.
