Anthony Chisholm, E. Roger Mitchell, LaParee Young, et al. Set for August Wilson’s Jitney in Atlanta

Casting has been announced for Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company’s production of August Wilson’s Jitney, which will run May 2-30 at Southwest Arts Center and June 5-27 at Alliance Stage @ The Woodruff Arts Center. Derrick Sanders will direct the piece.

Set in a gypsy cab station in 1977, Wilson’s play focuses on what happens when a son returns home after 20 years in prison to face his father whose station is threatened with demolition. The company will feature Anthony Chisholm (Fielding), E. Roger Mitchell (Booster), LaParee Young (Doub), Geoffrey Williams (Shealy), Cedric Young (Becker), Tracey Bonner (Rena), Eric Moore (Philmore), Yeagel Welch (Youngblood), and Ellis “Skeeter” Williams (Turnbo).

The creative team will include Leslie M. Taylor (scenic design), Reggie Ray (costume design), Joseph Futral (lighting design), and Justin Ellington (sound design).
