TheatreWorks in Palo Alto has announced casting for its production of the Tony Award-winning musical The Light in the Piazza to run August 25-September 19. The production will be directed by Robert Kelley.

The show focuses on a mother and daughter who travel to Italy on vacation in the 1950s. It has a book by Craig Lucas, based on the novella by Elisabeth Spencer, and music and lyrics by Adam Guettel.

The cast features Rebecca Eichenberger (Margaret), Whitney Bashor (Clara), Constantine Germanacos (Fabrizio). Martin Vidnovic (Signor Nacarelli). Ariela Morgenstern, (Franca), Caroline Altman (Signora Nacarelli), Colin Thomson (Priest), and Nicholas Aliaga (Giuseppe).
