ACT, Magic and Marin Theatres Join Forces for Tarell Alvin McCraney’s The Brother/Sister Plays
Three Bay area theater companies — American Conservatory Theater (ACT), Magic Theatre and Marin Theatre Company — will join forces to present Tarell Alvin McCraney’s The Brother/Sister Plays this fall. Each company will produce one play in the trilogy, which tells modern-day stories of kinship, love, heartache, and coming-of-age centered around an extended family and community in the Bayou.
Marin Theatre Company will begin the endeavor with Ryan Rilette’s staging of In the Red and Brown Water. The Magic Theatre will present the second play in the series, The Brothers Size, and ACT will produce the third play Marcus, or the Secret of Sweet. Casting and additional details will be announced in the near future.
