Set against the sleepy landscape of the small Texas town of Harrison, these two unforgettable one-act plays, The Widow Claire and Courtship capture the warmth and poignancy of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Horton Foote's beloved trilogy, The Orphans' Home Cycle.

Longing for connection, the good-natured Horace Robedaux vies for the love of two very different women. In 1912, he woos a pragmatic widow, Claire, who struggles to balance the longings of her heart with the needs of her children. Four years later, he turns his attention to Elizabeth Vaughn, a childhood friend and local piano teacher. She thinks she might love Horace, but worries about their chances for happiness in the wake of the marital tragedies of family and friends.

Tinged by a sense of melancholy heartache--and propelled by an unflagging hope for redemption--these lyrical tales bring together the extraordinary talents of the A.C.T. M.F.A. Program class of 2013 and students from the Young Conservatory and Studio A.C.T.
