WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Award-winning playwright Theresa Rebeck (Mauritius, Bad Dates, Law & Order) examines the shifting power dynamics of personal relationships and the empty narcissism of American culture in this hot new brutal comedy. The Scene is set in the world of New York's entertainment scene where protagonist Charlie, an unemployed New York actor, is married to Stella, a producer of a morning television news program. Reluctant to engage in the games required to succeed in the cutthroat entertainment industry, Charlie ends up without much-needed work, and caught in an affair with Clea, a fresh-faced ingénue. When his wife discovers his affair with Clea, she takes comfort in the arms of Charlie's best friend. Announced Cast includes Daphne Zuniga, Aaron Davidman, Heather Gordon and Howard Swain.
