WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Lion in Winter is a combination of history and matters of royal succession with dramatic license and familiar intrigue - all at the castle of Henry II where the king, his three back-stabbing sons, and their imprisoned mother have gathered for Christmas in 1183.
