"Well--what shall we hang? The holly or each other?" To celebrate Christmas 1183, King Henry II of England springs his captive wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine, from prison. Their three sons jostle for position as Henry's successor. Eleanor schemes to land son Richard in the throne, while Henry plots to make young John his heir. Dungeons and daggers. Political machinations. Sibling rivalry and love-hate relationships. With delicious wit and a dash of treason, this royal family puts the fun in dysfunction.
