WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Intersection for the Arts presents the new full length show of The Hybrid Project -- 1984/ 2004 : Time Passes Slowly. Created by and featuring Erika Shuch director of Erika Shuch Performance Project, Tommy Shepherd and Dan Wolf from Felonious: One Love Hip Hop, and Grady Cousins.

This new full length performance is the much anticipated follow up to 2003's explosive fusion, i am talking to you, and the fourth new full length Intersection has created in The Hybrid Project since 2000. This year's production features Intersection's Resident Hybrid Artists (Erika Shuch, Tommy Shepherd and Dan Wolf) who have worked for over 9 months building and merging styles, rhythms, cultures and traditions and ideas - exploring the 20 years that pass in a life from 1984 to 2004. The Hybrid Project is a year-long interdisciplinary performance workshop that culminates in original full length work. It is designed to bring together a multi-cultural and multi-generational array of artists and audiences to create a new performance language that emphasizes the context of culture and that fuses discipline, style, tradition and perspective. Through beatboxing, dancing, hip hop, rapping, poetry, movement and drumming we try and answer in this new language of communication.
