Rags is an epic musical which tells the story of a naive Russian immigrant, Rebecca. She has just come to America with her young son and they struggle to make a life for themselves. While she searches for her husband who arrived earlier in America, she toils in a sweat shop. When she is finally reunited with her husband, she finds herself at odds with his rejection of their ethnic culture and assimilation into American culture. Featuring great musical numbers such as "Children of the Wind," this is a classic American musical. Lyrics by Tony award winner Stephen Schwartz, the creator of Wicked.
