WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Ted Neeley, who starred in Norman Jewison's cinematic version of the rock opera in 1973 (for which he won a Golden Globe Award) returns to the title role in Jesus Christ Superstar, by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
Set in two acts, the musical tells the story of the final seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth. Superstar dramatizes Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, the unrest caused by his preaching and popularity, his betrayal by Judas, the trail before Pontius Pilate, and his ultimate crucifixion. Notable songs include "Superstar," "Everything's Alright," and "I Don't Know How To Love Him."
