WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The New Conservatory Theatre Center presents two one-acts plays: Dooley by Harry C. Cronin and A Taste of Heaven by Michael D. Jackson, directed by Alan Quizmorio.
Dooley is an examination of dogmatic patriotism, homophobia, Catholic guilt and government witch hunting and the story of a decorated Navy lieutenant torn between his country and his conscience, between love and faith.
A Taste of Heaven, by Michael D. Jackson, is based on the diaries of American poet F. S. Ryman. The play follows the journey of two college friends as their friendship evolves into sexual intimacy as they try to reconcile their feelings for each other with the demands of a traditional society and the rules of marriage in Victorian times.
