WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Boxcar Bertha is a one-woman play based on the legendary depression era hobo, feminist, prostitute and social activist, Bertha Thompson. Featuring Christina Augello, this depression era saga about a rugged, hard living woman who rode the rails in the 1930's, is accompanied by a simpatico musical backdrop by Jack "Applejack" Walroth that resonates with Bertha's alternative universe of boxcars, soapboxes and bordellos.
