Aurora Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Antigone Falun Gong. This stunning adaptation of Sophocles' great tragedy is re-set in contemporary China by Bay Area playwright, Cherylene Lee, author of The Legacy Codes. Exploring the persecution of the Falun Gong, how the past connects to the present, and how there may be more to America's global reach than we imagine, Antigone Falun Gong utilizes forms of Tai Chi, Wu Shu, Kung Fu, Chinese Opera, and the five Falun Gong exercises to dramatize the story of a lone woman defying a repressive government in a beautifully unique and provocative way.
