WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
In the early part of the last century, a river ran through San Francisco's Mission District. Though the river can no longer be seen (it has been built over, obscured), its memory suggests a mysterious underground, a secret current lingering beneath the city's contemporary life. 17 reasons (why) investigates how the mysteries and ghosts of the Mission District dwell just below the surface of the present day.
