Roman Holiday, the Oscar-winning, Audrey Hepburn-Gregory Peck film from 1953, will come to the stage in a new Broadway-aimed production. Subtitled The Cole Porter Musical, the tuner will play the Golden Gate Theatre from May 24-June 28, 2017, with a fall 2017 Broadway opening expected.

With a book by Kathy Speer, Terry Grossman, and Paul Blake, the production will feature Porter classics including "Night and Day," "Easy to Love," and "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye." The musical tells the story of a young princess yearning to experience life, and an American reporter who goes from covering the royal family to covering up her escape. In the span of 24 unforgettable hours, they discover the magic of Rome, the promise of love, and a secret they will share forever.

The musical is produced by Paul Blake and Mike Bosner, in conjunction with San Francisco’s SHN. Blake and Bosner also collaborated on Broadway's Beautiful — The Carole King Musical.
