Stephen Spinella, who won a pair of Tony Awards for playing Prior Walter in the original production of Tony Kushner's Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes, will return to the two-part drama for its upcoming Berkeley Repertory Theatre production. Spinella will take on the role of Roy Cohn.

Kushner's masterpiece will be directed by Tony Taccone, who commissioned the play for San Francisco's Eureka Theatre and codirected its full-length world premiere. This marks the first time the play is staged in its entirety at Berkeley Rep.

Joining Spinella are Randy Harrison as Prior, Caldwell Tidicue (a.k.a. Bob the Drag Queen) as Belize, Danny Binstock as Joe, Randy Danson as the Angel, Benjamin T. Ismail as Louis, Bethany Jillard as Harper, and Carmen Roman as Hannah.

The creative team is made up of Takeshi Kata (scenic designer), Montana Blanco (costume designer), Jen Schriever (lighting designer), Alexander V. Nichols (projection designer), and Bray Poor (sound designer).
