The 2015 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Fun Home opened the San Francisco engagement of its national tour last night at the newly reopened Curran Theatre. Cast and crew were on hand to celebrate the occasion. Performances are scheduled to continue at the Curran through February 19 before moving to Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre.

With book and lyrics by Lisa Kron and music composed by Jeanine Tesori, Fun Home, an adaptation of Alison Bechdel's autobiographical graphic novel, introduces us to Alison at three different ages. These three periods of Alison's life offer revealing memories of her uniquely dysfunctional family — her mother, brothers, and volatile, brilliant, enigmatic father — that connect with her in surprising new ways. Sam Gold directs.
