Rene Augesen, Concetta Tomei, et al. to Star in Carey Perloff’s Higher

Rene Augesen, Alexander Crowther, Ben Kahre, Andrew Polk, and Concetta Tomei will star in American Conservatory Theater’s world premiere of Carey Perloff’s Higher, to run Feburary 1-19 at The Theater at Children’s Creativity Museum. The production, which will open officially on February 4, will be directed by Marc Rucker.


In the play, two American architects, who are romantically involved, enter a competition to design a memorial in Israel.


The creative team includes scenic designer Erik Flatmo, lighting designer Gabe Maxson, costume designer David Draper, and sound designer Will McCandless.


In addition to her work as a playwright, Perloff is the artistic director of American Conservatory Theatre, where she has directed such works as The Tosca Project, Phedre, Boleros for the Disenchanted, and Rock ‘n’ Roll. Her plays include Waiting for the Flood and The Morning After.
