Eddie Izzard to Be Honored at San Francisco Comedy Festival

Tony Award nominee Eddie Izzard will be honored with an SF Sketchfest Tribute at the eleventh annual San Francisco Comedy Festival at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre, on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 8pm.

Izzard will be on hand for the event, which will feature a selection of clips from his career, and he will also participate in an onstage conversation and audience question-and-answer period.

Izzard received a Tony Award nomination for the Roundabout Theatre’s revival of A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, and his other stage credits include Lenny, Race, and The Cryptogram. He has also performed in numerous solo shows around the world.

His many film and television credits include The Riches, The United States of Tara, Velvet Goldmine, Shadow of the Vampire, The Cat’s Meow, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, and Across the Universe. In 2010, Izzard’s documentary Believe: The Eddie Izzard Story received an Emmy Award nomination in the category of “Outstanding Nonfiction Special.”
