Casting Announced for A.C.T.’s A Christmas Carol

Bay Area actor James Carpenter will return for a sixth year as the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge in the American Conservatory Theater’s production of A Christmas Carol . The holiday favorite celebrates its 35th anniversary on the A.C.T. stage and will play from December 1-24, 2011. The show is adapted by Carey Perloff and Paul Walsh. A.C.T. resident artist Domenique Lozana will direct.

Joining Carpenter on stage will be Jack Willis as Jacob Marley), Manoel Felciano as Bob Cratchit, Delia MacDougall as Anne Cratchit, Jarion Monroe and Sharon Lockwood respectively as Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig, and Omozé Idehenre as the Ghost of Christmas Present. The adult cast also includes Cindy Goldfield, Annie Purcell, Howard Swain, and Liam Vincent. Rounding out the cast are a record 25 young actors from the A.C.T. Young Conservatory and the entire third-year class of the A.C.T. Master of Fine Arts Program.

The production will feature sets by Tony Award-winning designer John Arnone, costumes by Beaver Bauer, original songs and score by composer Karl Lundeberg, choreography by Val Caniparoli of the San Francisco Ballet, lighting design by Nancy Schertler, sound design by Jake Rodriguez, and musical direction by Robert Rutt.
