High Spirits to Replace Baker’s Wife in 42nd Street Moon Season

42nd Street Moon has announced that it will be postponing its production of The Baker’s Wife, and will instead replace it with High Spirits, the musical version of Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit, to run at the Eureka Theatre, March 19-April 5. Greg MacKellan will direct, with Dave Dobrusky as musical director.

The musical features book, lyrics and music by High Martin and Timothy Gray, and tells the story of a man who is haunted by the mischievous spirit of his dead wife. The cast will star Megan Cavanagh as eccentric medium Madame Arcati, Michael Patrick Gaffney as the harried Charles Condomine, Maureen McVerry as his current wife Ruth, and Dyan McBride as Charles’ ghostly former wife Elvira. Nick DiScala will accompany on woodwinds.

As previously announced, the season will also include the George and Ira Gershwin musical, Girl Crazy, October 23-November 16; Ben Franklin in Paris, November 28-December 14; The Great Revues, April 16-26, and Wildcat, May 7-24.
