Carey Perloff’s Higher to Have Public Readings at Contemporary Jewish Museum

Carey Perloff’s new play Higher will receive three publicworkshop reading presentations at the Contemporary Jewish Museum, November 4 at 7pm and November 7 at 1pm and 4pm. Mark Rucker will direct the performances .

The play centers on a high-powered Jewish architect discovers that his rival in a competition to design a memorial in Israel is the woman he is madly in love with.

Perloff is artistic director of American Conservatory Theatre, where she has directed such works as The Tosca Project, Phedre, Boleros for the Disenchanted, and Rock ‘n’ Roll, which was subsequently seen at the Huntington Theatre Company. Among her other recent directing credits are Elektra at the Getty Villa and The Color of Desire at the Cape Cod Project. Her plays include Waiting for the Flood and The Morning After.
