Berkeley Rep Announces Casting for Mary Zimmerman’s The Arabian Nights

Berkeley Repertory Theatre has announced casting for its holiday revival of The Arabian Nights, to run December 11 – 30, prior to its previously announced engagement at Arena Stage in Washington, DC. Mary Zimmerman will direct the production.

The play is a theatrical adaptation of The Book of The Thousand Nights and One Night, in which a beautiful bride must spin hypnotic tales of genies, jesters, thieves, and kings in order to save her own life.

The company will feature Barzin Akhavan, Terence Archie, David DeSantos, Minita Gandhi, Allen Gilmore, Susaan Jamshidi, Ronnie Malley, Luis Moreno, Maureen Sebastian, Nicole Shalhoub, Amir Talai, Louis Tucci, Stacey Yen, and Evan Zes.

The creative team will include Daniel Ostling (scenic design), Mara Blumenfeld (costume design), TJ Gerckens (lighting design), and Andre Pluess and Ben Sussman (sound design).
