Tony Award winning composer Duncan Sheik will debut a suite of songs from Whisper House with the San Francisco Symphony, April 7-10. Sheik’s appearance with the symphony replaces a previously scheduled concert with Rufus Wainwright which has been postponed until 2010 due to a scheduling conflict.

Whisper House, which Sheik has written with playwright Kyle Jarrow, takes places in the head of lead character Christopher, but all the singing is done by the ghosts whom Christopher sees. The piece was seen in a workshop production this past summer at New York Stage and Film in Poughkeepsie, and songs from it are on Sheik’s CD of the same name.

Alongside the concerts will be pre-performance conversations each night as well as a post-concert talkback with artists on April 8.
