Foronda and Coughlin Join Cast of AMTSJ’s Flower Drum Song

Joseph Anthony Foronda and Michelle Liu Coughlin have joined the cast of American Musical Theatre of San Jose’s 50th anniversary production of the musical Flower Drum Song, replacing the previously announced Francis Jue, who withdrew due to an injury, and Ma-Anne Dionisio in the roles of Wang Chi-Yang and Mei-Li, respectively. Featuring a score by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II and a revised book by David Henry Hwang, the production will run October 28-November 9.

The show will be directed by Gabriel Barre, with choreography by Vince Pesce, and musical direction by William Liberatore. The creative team includes Robin Wagner (sets), Gregg Barnes (costumes), Karen Spahn (lighting), and Hage van Dijk (sound).

As previously announced, the show will also star Emily Hsu (Linda Low), Alvin Ing (Chin), Paolo Montalban (Wang Ta), and Erin Quill (Madame Rita Liang). The ensemble features Jenn Aedo, Kikau Alvaro, Dane Paul Andres, Joven Calloway, Brian Conway, Albert Guerzon, Jared Lee, Stephanie Lo, Sumie Maeda, Jonelle Margallo, Mario Martinez, Don Masuda, Theresa Nguyen, Donna Rapa-Olsen, Sung Min Park, Nicole Tung, Erwin Urbi, and Rod Voltaire-Edora.
