LeRoy McClain to Play Title Role in California Shakespeare Theater’s Hamlet

California Shakespeare Theater will concludes its season with Shakespeare’s Hamlet, running September 19-October 14 at the Bruns Amphitheater. Liesl Tommy will direct.

This will mark Cal Shakes’ first production of Hamlet in over a decade.

The cast will feature LeRoy McClain (Hamlet), Adrian Roberts (Claudius and the Ghost), and Zainab Jah (Ophelia) as well as Julie Eccles (Gertrude), Dan Hiatt (Polonius and the Grave Digger), Danny Scheie (the Player King), Nick Gabriel (Horatio), Nicholas Pelczar (Laertes), Mia Tagano (the Player Queen and the Doctor), Jessica Kitchens (Rosencrantz), Brian Rivera (Guildenstern, Captain, and Barnardo), and Joseph Salazar (Marcellus, Lucianus, Soldier, and Osric).

The design team will include Clint Ramos (set and costume design), Peter West (lighting design), and Jake Rodriguez (sound design).
