The award, established in 1929, honors a person who has made significant, long-term contributions to the greater Berkeley community. It is named for one of the most admired presidents of the University of California.
In addition to the awarding of the Wheeler Medal, the October 4 awards ceremony and dinner will showcase the Fund's High Hopes Scholarship program. Proceeds from the dinner will support the scholarship program.
