6th Street Playhouse to Present Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

6th Street Playhouse opens their 2012-2013 season with Seven Brides for Seven Brothers at the GK Hardt Theatre. The show, directed by Patrick Varner, runs August 24-September 16.

Based on the short story by Stephen Vincent Benet and book by Lawrence Kasha and David Landay, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers tells the story of a young bride who hatches a scheme to marry off her six brothers-in-law that goes awry when the brothers kidnap six women from a neighboring town.

The production features music by Gene de Paul, lyrics by Johnny Mercer, stage direction by Patrick Varner, musical direction by Janis Dunson Wilson, and choreography by Alexandra Cummins.
