Ryan Rilette, Mark Rucker, Octavio Solis to Direct Tarell Alvin McCraney’s The Brother/Sister Plays

Directors, partial casting, and production dates are now set for the previously announced stagings of Tarell Alvin McCraney’s The Brother/Sister Plays, which will be presented by three Bay area theater companies this fall.

This trilogy of works tells modern-day stories of kinship, love, heartache, and coming-of-age centered around an extended family and community in the Bayou.

Marin Theatre Company (MTC) presents Part I, In the Red and Brown Water, directed by Ryan Rilette (September 9-October 3.) The cast will include Ryan Anderson, Daveed Diggs, Nicol Foster, Jalene Goodwin, Isaiah Johnson, Lakisha Michelle May, Jared McNeill, Joe Sofranko, and Dawn Troupe.

Magic Theatre simultaneously presents Part II, The Brothers Size, directed by Octavio Solis (September 9-October 17). The cast will include Tobie L. Windham.

Then A.C.T. presents Part III, Marcus; or The Secret of Sweet, directed by Mark Rucker (October 29-November 21). Among the cast members are Shinelle Azoroh, Omozé Idehenre, Richard Prioleau, Gregory Wallace, and Tobie L. Windham.
