California Shakespeare Theater has announced casting for George Bernard Shaw’s Mrs. Warren’s Profession, to run July 7 – August 1 at the Bruns Amphitheatre. Timothy Near will direct the production.

The play focuses on what happens when Vivie Warren discovers how her mother turned to prostitution to fund their family’s comfortable lifestyle. Mrs. Warren’s continued involvement in the world’s oldest profession sets the pair at odds.

The company will feature Stacy Ross as the title character, along with Anna Bullard (Vivie Warren), Dan Hiatt (Mr. Praed), Andy Murray (Sir George Crofts), Rod Gnapp (Reverend Samuel Gardner), and Richard Thieriot (Frank Gardner).

The creative team will include Erik Flatmo (scenic design), Meg Neville (costume design), York Kennedy (lighting design), and Jeff Mockus (sound design).
