Seth Rudetsky will present a return Bay Area engagement of his solo show Deconstructing Broadway as a benefit for Stage 1 Theatre in Newark, California. The event will be held at Stage 1, June 27 at 8pm.

Rudetsky will share his knowledge and his own private video and audio collection to show what really goes on behind the scenes on Broadway, deconstructing what’s vocally amazing (Patti LuPone in Evita) and what’s a vocal travesty (Madonna singing the same material). In addition, Rudetsky will conduct a Vocal and Audition Master Class on Saturday, June 27, from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM, also at Stage 1.

Rudetsky is a professional musical director and pianist who has played on Broadway for shows including Les Miserables, The Producers, The Phantom of the Opera, and Ragtime. He hosts a weekly Broadway interview called “Chatterbox” in New York City and was the vocal coach on MTV’s Legally Blonde reality show. He also appeared as an actor in the Broadway revival of The Ritz.
