The season will open with the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic about the novice nun Maria who becomes governess to the seven troublesome children of widowed naval Captain Von Trapp The Sound of Music (October 27-December 2). Jennifer King will direct, with musical direction by Angela Zullinger. The season's New Work Showcase production will be Thumbelina (May 10-12), a commission by Jon Tracy and Phil Gorman which tells the story of a girl as small as a human thumb. The season's Youth Conservatory production, which gives young people the opportunity to take part in full-scale youth-only productions, will be Peter Pan Jr. (January 19-27).
