SHN’s 2012-2013 Season to Include Anything Goes,The Book of Mormon, Diner

SHN has announced the productions planned for its 2012-2013 season, which will begin in October and, as previously announced, include a five-week engagement of The Book of Mormon (November 27-December 30).

The season’s first offering will be the world premiere of Diner (October 23-November 18). Based on the 1982 film and featuring a book by Academy Award-winner Barry Levinson and music and lyrics by Sheryl Crow Diner focuses on six high school friends who reunite at the one place they know they’ll always belong. Direction and choreography will be by Kathleen Marshall. (Click here for our recent news item on Diner.

SHN’s season will also include The Lion King (November 1-January 13), featuring Elton John and Tim Rice’s music. Kathleen Marshall will direct Roundabout Theatre Company’s Anything Goes (January 8-February 3), a rewrite of the 1934 musical comedy. Closing the season will be Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman’s Wicked (January 23-February 17), based on Gregory Maguire’s novel about the witches of Oz.
