A.C.T. is set to present the West Coast premiere of Jordan Harrison’s Maple and Vine, March 29-April 22. Associate artistic director Mark Rucker will direct.

Maple and Vine tells the story of a married couple who feel unfulfilled by their impersonal gadgets and fast-paced lifestyle. They decide to swap sushi for fish sticks by joining a community where life is slower and a cocktail is a daily accessory.

The cast will feature Emily Donahoe (Katha), Nelson Lee (Ryu), Danny Bernardy, Julia Coffey, and Jamison Jones.

The design team will include Ralph Funicello (set design), Alex Jaeger (costume design), Russell H. Champa (lighting design), and Jake Rodriguez (sound design).

A.C.T. will offer several InterACT events in relation to Maple and Vine, including a preshow discussion with director Mark Rucker (April 3), a bring what you can/pay what you wish event (April 5), Theater on the Couch with Mason Turner, chief of psychiatry at San Francisco’s Kaiser Permanente Medical Center (April 6), and more.
