Itamar Moses, Nilaja Sun, and More Win SFBATCC Awards

The winners of the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle have been announced. SFBATCC is awarding 37 Drama awards and 37 Musical awards, encompassing venues and production companies from under 99-seat houses to major area theaters such as A.C.T., Berkeley Rep, San Jose Rep, and TheatreWorks.

Notable winners include Itamar Moses for his original script Yellowjackets, Nilaja Sun for her solo performance of No Child…, and the touring production of The Drowsy Chaperone.

TheatreWorks won the “Entire Production” award for its staging of Caroline, or Change, which also won for director Robert Kelley, supporting actress Allison Blackwell, supporting actor Julian Hornik, musical director William Liberatore, set designer J.B. Wilson, costume designer Fumiko Bielefeldt, and ensemble.

Beth Glover received the “Principal Performance, Female” Award for Grey Gardens, with additional actor wins including Shane Partlow (The Will Rogers Follies), Paul Myrvold (Grey Gardens), Pamela Reed (Curse of the Starving Class), Dan Hiatt (Uncle Vanya), Phoebe Moyer (The Foreigner), Andy Murray (for both Uncle Vanya and The Seafarer), and more.
