Full cast and creative team information has been announced for Berkeley Repertory Theatre’s West Coast premiere of Figaro, an adaptation by Theatre de la Jeune Lune, April 25-June 8 with an April 29 opening. Inspired by Mozart and Beaumarchais, Figaro is adapted by Steven Epp and Dominique Serrand, who also perform the lead roles alongside a live string quartet. Serrand will also direct.

Figaro marries music from Mozart’s opera with characters from the plays of Beaumarchais as Figaro and the Count recall their rivalries years later, amidst the bloodshed of the French Revolution. The cast will feature Epp and Serrand as well as Christina Baldwin, Bryan Boyce, Casey Creig, Bradley Greenwald, Carrie Hennessey, Anna Hersey, Bryan Janssen, Julie Kurtz, Justin D. Madel, Jennifer Baldwin Peden, and Momoko Tanno.

The Seventh Avenue String Quartet, featuring Alex Kelly (cello), Justin Mackewich (first violin), Katrina Weeks (viola), and Sarah Jo Zaharako (second violin), will accompany the production. The creative team will include Sonya Berlovitz (costume design), Barbara Brooks (music director/conductor), Marcus Dilliard (lighting design), and Zach Humes (sound design).
