Tony Winners Bill Irwin and David Shiner Take Old Hats to the American Conservatory Theater

Tony Award-winning clowns Bill Irwin and David Shiner will return to San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater with the West Coast premiere of the 2013 Signature Theatre production of Old Hats. The production will open A.C.T.'s 2014-15 season.

Irwin and Shiner previously teamed up at A.C.T. for a 1998 run of their Broadway hit Fool Moon, reprising their roles in 2001 for a return engagement. Old Hats, the first collaboration between Irwin and Shiner since Fool Moon, earned the pair a 2013 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Alternative Theatrical Experience, and the 2013 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revue. Through music, technology, and movement, Old Hats is described as combining "the inimitable magic, slapstick and hilarity of Irwin and Shiner into a wild and remarkable outing of theatre for generations old and new."
