San Jose Rep Announces 2012-2013 Season

San Jose Rep has announced the productions set for its 2012-2013 season, which will run August 30, 2012 to July 14, 2013.

The season will open with the world premiere of Jonathan Marc Feldman’s The Death of the Novel (August 30-September 23), about a brilliant young novelist coping with great personal loss in the aftermath of 9/11. Then, the theater will present the Bay Area premiere of Freud’s Last Session (October 11-November 4) by Mark St. Germain, a co-production with the Arizona Theatre Company in which Dr. Sigmund Freud, invites little-known professor C.S. Lewis to his home in London. For the holiday, Artistic Director Rick Lombardo will direct his original adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol (November 21-December 23).

The new year will kick off with a co-production with the Arizona Theatre Company of Next to Normal (January 10-February 3), the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning musical by Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt. San Jose Rep will present the Bay Area premiere of Geoffrey Nauffts’s Next Fall, the story of a long-time couple whose differences rise to the surface when tragedy befalls them. The season will close with the musical based on George Bernard Shaw’s Candida, A Minister’s Wife (June 20-July 14).
