Full Cast, Creative Team Set for A.C.T.’s Government Inspector

Full cast and creative team information has been announced for A.C.T.’s new production of Nikolai Gogol’s The Government Inspector, to play March 20-April 20, with an opening night set for March 26. Artistic Director Carey Perloff will direct.

The comedy, presented in a translation by Alistair Beaton, depicts a group of wildly corrupt bureaucrats in a remote provincial corner of Russia who scramble to whitewash their behavior when a government official is rumored to be arriving to inspect the town.

The cast will include Gregory Wallace (Khlestakov), Jud Williford (Osip), Graham Beckel (The Mayor), Sharon Lockwood (Anna), Amanda Sykes (Marya), Shannon Parker Taing (Avdotya, Ensemble), Raife Baker (Mishka, Ensemble), Dan Hiatt (Magistrate, Ensemble), Delia MacDougall (Director of Education, Ensemble), Stephen Barker Turner (The Doctor, Ensemble), Anthony Fusco (The Postmaster, Ensemble), Rod Gnapp (Commissioner of Health, Shopkeeper), Andrew Hurteau (Superintendent, Ensemble), Geoff Hoyle (Dobchinsky, Ensemble), Joan Mankin (Bobchinsky), Alex Morf (Abdulin, Osip), Reed Martin (Ensemble), and Anthony Nemirovsky (Ensemble).

The design team will include Erik Flatmo (sets), Beaver Bauer (costumes), Alexander V. Nichols (lights), and Darron L. West (sound).
